Thousand Palms

Thousand Palms is a small, unincorporated community in the Coachella Valley with a population of approximately 8,374 with a growing rate of 0.53% annually with affordable housing and proximity to major attractions, such as the Acrisure Arena, home to the American Hockey League’s Coachella Valley Firebirds, and is a primary venue for events in the Greater Palm Springs area. Thousand Palms is also home to the Coachella Valley Preserve, a 3,709-acre protected area that is one of the few in the desert with an oasis fed by natural springs, where you can enjoy activities like hiking diverse trails through the desert and palm oases, wildlife viewing to spot rare desert tortoises and birds, exploring the Thousand Palms Oasis via boardwalks, and learning about conservation efforts at the visitor center. You can also enjoy picnicking in shaded areas and taking part in guided tours to learn about the unique ecosystem and its history.

Thousand Palms is located just North of Palm Desert, North of the 10 freeway with easy freeway access. Nearby shopping includes a Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, Sam’s Club, Kohl’s, Petsmart, Lowe’s, and more.

Some of my favorite local eateries nearby are La Baguette, Burgers and Beer, and The Slice. There are also chain eateries nearby such as Red Robin, Chipotle, Panera, Chick Fil A, Krispy Kreme Donuts, and 85 degree bakery. There is also a Regal Cinemas and many other shopping and dining options.
